Camfed holiday greeting from Angeline Mugwendere

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support this year to stop poverty in its tracks by educating this generation of girls. With a common goal to give every girl the chance to realise her full potential through the power of education, together we have made great strides. Yet there is still much more to be done.

“Poverty”, UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has said, “begins when even one child is denied his of her fundamental right to education.”As this year’s Holiday Greeting, Angeline Mugwendere, one of the first girls to be supported through school by Camfed and now the Executive Director of Camfed Zimbabwe, shares her message of hope and determination.

“Zimbabwe is going through immense economic and social challenges but is not yet full of desperate individuals who have given up hope and are waiting for fate to determine their destiny. We have challenges, yes, but we are not sitting down and weeping and wishing life was not so trying. We are doing what we can and giving the best to the fight and that is what we want the whole world to know.”
