Camfed and the other members of the Make Poverty History Campaign will join thousands of others as the leaders of the world’s richest countries gather in Scotland for the G8 Summit. As part of the campaign, Camfed has been fighting to make sure the politicians know that girls’ education is the best way to Make Poverty History! We have 20 tickets to the pop concert at Murrayfield Stadium on July 6th to share with our supporters.
The spectacular finale at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on the 6th of July will include performances by Texas, Annie Lennox, Travis, Snow Patrol, Sugababes, Ronan Keating, McFly, Bob Geldof, Lenny Henry, Peter Kaye, Natasha Bedingfield, The Corrs, Beverley Knight and Jamie Cullen. If you are interested in winning 2 tickets for yourself and a friend, please click here to email Camfed and include one sentence on why girls’ education is critical to make poverty history. Tickets will be awarded on a first come first serve basis and you must show that you are over 18 or have parental consent to qualify. Good luck!
If you cannot make the pilgrimage to Edinburgh, don’t despair! You too can make your voice heard by joining one of the local Make Poverty History demonstrations that are being organised up and down the country.
Members of Camfed will be joining the demonstration at Great St. Mary’s Church in Cambridge at 1.30pm on Friday 1st July and we hope some of you will join us. Organisers are going to wrap a long white band around Great St. Mary’s and everyone is invited to put on their white t-shirts and join in to help form a human white chain around the church.
